24 x 24 inch Acrylic on decorative fabric glued onto canvas stretcher.
Experimenting on different fabrics, this is very shiny with gold thread flowers, which makes it difficult to photograph. The image changes as you move past the painting, which I enjoy but is impossible to photograph.
As artists we see many beautiful things in this world - a world of nuances that pass others by. Sometimes we want to include them in our artwork to share our vision, but it's a delicate balance and sometimes we embellish the "found object or material" too much (or it still outshines our contribution to the piece).
The material is beautiful and I can imagine it's iridescence, like the lustre on a William de Morgan dish.
Your composition is an arresting piece of design with the graphic nature of the painted elements in harmony with the oriental feel of the "canvas".
The cat also has the slim face of the oriental breeds, capturing a world of character (and just happens to look a lot like my dearly missed cat "H")
You have created a truly wonderful piece of artwork with all the richness of a "Gustav Klimt".

You also put your soul into your work,
