In addition, we clearly see the fur, we say a photograph! One can easily guess the softness of fur. His eyes have nice colors (it seems like amber).
However, I think the background is a bit monotonous, you may have to add some details of another color to "settle" a bit (for exemple you can paint green leaves). And the red part of the cat's head is "masked" by the color of the background.
