Miss Gypsy Roma Forrest - Painting

The detail in this piece is spectacular, right down the the highlights on the skin surrounding the eyes. The technique used for the fur is beautiful, adding a feeling of texture without overcrowding the image. The markings on the cat's coat are genuine and perfectly placed, and the whiskers are carefully placed, not sloppy and quickly done. The blades of grass that come up in front of the cat give a sense of dimension and perspective to the piece. The lighting is well placed, however I do feel that the lighter on the fur on the cat's back, lightened by the reflection of the light source, extends a little to far towards the cat's chest. The cat's eyes are flawless, and extremely detailed, especially in the shadow at the top of the pupil, which is often forgotten by artists. The reflections on the eye and the skin around the eye are perfectly placed.
The background is beautiful and extremely detailed.
Overall, a stunning piece, with an incredible amount of detail, and well placed shadows and lighting.
